This is a support group for parents and caregivers of gender creative children. New families are welcome to join at any point throughout the year and you are welcome to attend based on your availability or interest in the evening’s topic. Gender creative children are kids who express their gender in ways that are different than what is expected based on their assigned sex at birth. This includes children who may be questioning their gender, transgender, gender fluid, non-binary, two spirit, or those who express their gender in creative ways.
The group is an opportunity for caregivers to share stories, support each other in a non-judgmental atmosphere, and learn more about how to support their gender creative kids. The group is facilitated by Centre for Sexuality and includes resource sharing as well as discussion time.
This group is closed to only families and natural supports (parents, caregivers, guardians, extended family) of gender creative children.
*Please note that Gender Creative Families is now being held in person again. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, and take place at Families Matter at 3404 25 St NE, Calgary AB.
► REGISTER ONLINE: Please RSVP so we know who to expect at each meeting. Capacity is limited.
